Hello,
This is my first post on WordPress so I decided I would post some pictures from this summer and explain what I plan to do with photography. I attended several concerts this summer and took pictures of the bands I saw. My passion and dream is to become a photographer for Spin Magazine and to travel to different music festivals around the country and/or world and photograph them. Music is a big part in my life, I love music and how people can connect to music. Last October I went to New Orleans for the Voodoo Music Experience with my older brother. It was a three day festival with more than one hundred bands, other performing artists, and shows. At the concert, I met a variety of different people. I met teenagers who live in New Orleans who were looking for entertainment, I met two hippies who were infatuated with Sinead O’Connor and when Sinead played, the two were dressed as her. I met people from across the country who came down to support New Orleans and to hopefully help the local economy. It is just amazing how 100,000 people can gather together for a weekend with peace and harmony and the love of music. My brother and I met a few people while we were down there and have kept in contact with them, in fact my brother went down to visit them about a month ago. We plan on attending Voodoo again this year for it’s 10th year running, but at the time we are unsure what will happen because Hurricane Gustav recently hit the New Orleans area. I was introduced to Spin Magazine while I was at Voodoo and hope to be there one day as a professional photographer for that magazine. Well I better go work on my homework…talk to you again soon!
